21st Century Spinster

I know that being MIA in the early stages of a blog doesn’t build confidence in my new found readers, but things come up. Things like school, the lamest of all excuses.  I was also spending aweome super fun-times with friends and a girl has got to have a social life doesn’t she.
But I am back, and on Valentine’s Day no less.  I know that it is a made up holiday celebrated only by those happily in love, but I can’t help but think of my own single-ness every time this time of year rolls around.

Get your kicks...

I have always wanted to go on a road trip. There are elements of adventure and romance in packing up your car with the absolute essentials and heading out to who know where with a couple of your best buddies. And even though this may have been a popular way to spend leisure time in the first half of the 20th century, I haven’t been able to convince one of my friends of the merit of taking a trek together.

Asians are small. Very, very small..

My current unemployment situation has me exploring my options for work outside of the US.  Being of Thai heritage, it seems fitting that I should at least consider going to Thailand to teach English.  This should be a fairly easy task, because of what I’ve heard from family who live in Thailand, they are in need of English teachers and having a degree in education myself, I should be a fine candidate.  There is only one small, itsy-bitsy trifle of a thing holding me back: how tiny Asians are.  Or if you want the real fact of the matter: how HUGE and American I am.
