Creatures of the Night

Morning Lark
Night Owl
I’ve always been amazed at the ability of some people to set their alarm and wake up when it goes off.  Personally, I have no concept of how to perform such a task.  I set my alarm (when I have to set my alarm) an hour before I need to get up so that I can push that snooze button (a masterful invention in my opinion) at least 6 times, though I probably squeeze a couple more in for good measure.  Don’t get me wrong, I hate the sound of the alarm, so much so that I ban products that feature that dastardly sound in their television ads. But, I rarely remember hearing the sound more than once or twice when I actually wake up.  Pushing the snooze button has become such a natural part of my waking process that I don’t even wake up to do it.

Asians are small. Very, very small..

My current unemployment situation has me exploring my options for work outside of the US.  Being of Thai heritage, it seems fitting that I should at least consider going to Thailand to teach English.  This should be a fairly easy task, because of what I’ve heard from family who live in Thailand, they are in need of English teachers and having a degree in education myself, I should be a fine candidate.  There is only one small, itsy-bitsy trifle of a thing holding me back: how tiny Asians are.  Or if you want the real fact of the matter: how HUGE and American I am.

Hello!

In this new year of 2011, I wanted to take a long, good, hard look at myself and really take in who it is that I am.  And I realized this.  I am 25 years old, unemployed and living with my parents.  If I go a little deeper.. I am not beautiful, I am socially awkward, and I seem to have some anger issues.  The last bit is why I decided to start this blog.  I've always thought of myself as a good listener, but I have recently come to understand that this was a delusion.  I'm a terrible listener, especially to myself.  And thus was born a blog.  This blog, in fact.
